The Mission Of FibroHugs

is to offer a place where persons with Fibromyalgia can find understanding, knowledge, and support in their daily battle with this painful disease. To offer support, not only for the patient but also to their loved ones, in an attempt to help all understand the effects of this illness. It is also our hope to bring awareness of this disease that a cure will be found.

My name is Ken Euteneier and I humbly invite you to our site. I am not a medical health professional but have been dealing with this illness since about 1980. Fibrohugs is a friendly and supportive place where sufferers of Fibromyalgia, their families and friends, have been coming for tough love, gentle hugs, and lifelong friendships since 1998. You will learn about Fibromyalgia, and ways we can help ourselves to fight this horrid disease. You'll find many supportive people on our Message Forums with whom you can ask questions, talk about problems, or just have a friendly shoulder to cry on. Or if you would like some immediate answers or comfort please know that you will find that in our Chat Rooms.

Most of all I know first hand, as I suffer myself, the struggles that Fibro bestows upon us and I will not add a financial burden to you. That is why there is no charge for our Newsletter, access to any areas of our site, and we will do whatever is within our means to assist you in retaining or regaining your income. We try our hardest to find legitimate Advertisers and other acceptable ways to fund this site so that we can offer this much needed resource to you.

Fibromyalgia pain  isn't  all in patients' heads, new brain study finds. Click here

Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) is often called the "invisible disease," because outwardly, we may look perfectly healthy. Inside though, we may have intense pain throughout our bodies, we may be constantly fatigued and weak, we may be dizzy, confused, lacking sleep, suffering digestive disorders, and generally living a poor quality of life. There is no known cure for Fibromyalgia, but there are ways to treat the symptoms, to improve that quality of life.

FMS is a type of neurotransmitter disorder, in which the pain-signals that our brains receive are intensified, and our muscles do not get the healing nutrients they need. The current diagnosis is usually made by a Rheumatologist who will find 11, or more, "Tender Points" on your body.

This site is enormous when it comes to the accumulation of information and knowledge, but is small and cozy when it comes to the personal contact with new friends that suffer the same effects of  Fibromyalgia, like you. Come here for gentle hugs, tough love, self-help information, and lifelong friendships. Relax and enjoy.

If you have a loved one that suffers like we do and you can not understand how they feel, please read "A Letter To Normal's". Your loved one is fighting a ferocious inner battle so please give them the support they need, for support and love are a medicine that will never be conjured up in a lab.

On the other hand, if you have Fibro, this letter may be similar to what your loved one is going through please read "A Letter To Fibromites". This is from the perspective of my late wife, Donna, who did not have Fibro, and how she dealt with it, something that us sufferers need to know and understand. This is truly an illness that involves the entire Family and the closer you can get to each other and discuss what you are all feeling, the easier it gets for you all.
